Bullion is priced on metal content, so your offer is tied to the live gold or silver spot price the day you come in. We weigh each bar, round, or coin, confirm its purity with our XRF analyzer, and show you the spot price and the math on the counter before you decide. Recognized government coins like American Eagles and Canadian Maple Leafs are the easiest to sell and price the most consistently, and generic rounds and bars are priced on their weight and purity. Because spot moves every trading day, the best way to get a current number is to call or stop in with your pieces. There is no obligation to sell once you see the offer.
Why sell bullion locally instead of mailing it in?
Selling locally means you keep control of your metal the whole time. There is no shipping cost, no insurance paperwork, no risk of a package going missing, and no waiting days for a mail-in buyer to test your pieces and decide what they are worth. At our counter on Woodruff Rd you watch the weighing and the XRF reading, you see the spot price we are using, and you can say no and walk out with your bullion if the number does not work for you. If you say yes, you are paid the same visit. You are dealing with the same family face to face every time, not a call center.
What bullion do you buy?
Gold and silver bars, rounds, and government bullion coins like American Eagles, Canadian Maples, and Krugerrands, plus generic and private-mint bullion.
Do you buy large quantities?
Yes. For larger lots, call ahead at 864-901-7975 so we can have enough cash on hand and set aside time.
Do I need an appointment or ID?
No appointment needed for normal amounts. South Carolina requires a valid photo ID for precious-metal purchases. For large lots, calling ahead helps.
How do you verify bullion is genuine?
Counterfeit bars and coins do exist, so we verify everything, which protects you as much as us. We check weight and dimensions against the known specifications for that coin or bar, then read the metal with our XRF analyzer to confirm the gold or silver content without damaging the piece. For well-known coins like American Eagles, Maple Leafs, and Krugerrands, any mismatch in weight, size, or composition stands out right away. It all happens at the counter in front of you, and if something does not check out we explain exactly what we found.
Do you buy junk silver coins?
Yes. Pre-1965 US dimes, quarters, and half dollars are 90% silver and we buy them by weight at the live silver price.
How fast do I get paid?
On the spot. We pay cash the same visit; larger purchases may be paid partly by check.
