Frequently asked questions
How do you value coins?
We value each coin on the higher of its metal (melt) value or its collector value, based on date, mint, condition, and rarity. We show you how we reached the number.
Do you buy whole collections and estates?
Yes. We regularly buy entire collections and estate coin lots. For large collections, call ahead so we can set aside time.
Do you buy bullion coins?
Yes — American Eagles, Canadian Maples, Krugerrands, rounds and bars, priced on the live metal spot.
What do I need to bring?
Your coins and a valid photo ID (required in South Carolina for precious-metal purchases).
How do I know if my coin is valuable?
Value comes down to date, mint mark, condition (grade), and rarity, on top of metal content. The safest way to know is a free appraisal. Bring your coins in and we will tell you what is worth melt and what is worth more as a collectible.
What is the difference between melt value and collector value?
Melt value is the coin’s metal content at the live spot price. Collector (numismatic) value is what a coin is worth to collectors for its date, condition, and rarity. We pay the higher of the two.
Do you buy inherited coin collections?
Yes, we buy estate and inherited collections regularly. Bring the whole collection in and we will sort and value it with you. For large collections, call ahead so we can set aside time.
Do you buy Morgan and Peace silver dollars?
Yes. We buy Morgan and Peace dollars individually or by the roll, valued on the higher of silver content or collector value based on date, mint, and grade.
How fast do I get paid?
On the spot. Cash the same visit; larger purchases may be paid partly by check.
